Well the April weather is in full effect, Strong winds and lots of thunderstorms around this week. We finally had a break from the rain and were able to make it happen today. A strong North West wind mad it tough to fish out in the bay so we settled for the back waters of Anna Maria Island where we caught Snook, Jack’s, and Trout.

Our guest today were from North Dakota and have never caught snook before, low and behold our first fish to make it in the boat was a 37 inch large model Snook reeled in by the young gun on the boat, Reed. Although he had some help from his dad Nick, Reed did a awesome job working this fish and keeping him out of the Structure!

REEDS 37 inch Snook!

We bounced around out of the wind catching around 20 or so other Snook, a few Jack Crevelle and a couple Spotted Sea Trout. The fishing was a little weird, we would get a school to fire up and catch a couple and then they would shut right back down. So we just kept moving around the mangrove islands of Anna Maria Island catching a few here and there.

Spring break is coming to a end and the Island is quieting down, but the fishing is still as good as it gets. The Tarpon are going to be showing up very soon, so if you are on Anna Maria island and looking to book a Fishing charter than give us a call we would live to have you out and take you on an adventure of a life time. Tight lines , Capt. Wes Wildman
