With a strong 10kt ese wind all week we have been staying in the Sarasota bay, but it has been incredible. I would say spring got here a little early, water temps in through out Anna Maria are a consistent 74+ degrees. Bait is starting to show up on the flats and that has the fish going crazy!
My guest this week have enjoyed a great Snook bite, and plenty of trout to take home for supper. We have been working the deeper pot holes in the Long Bar area of Sarasota bay on the falling tide, this producing big gator Speckled Sea Trout. The Snook seem to be relating to big bars and docks around Anna Maria. But when you find a school there could to be 100 fish with some very nice slot fish mixed in, this is good considering Snook season begins March first here on Anna Maria island.
If you are looking for a great fishing experience, now is the time to book a trip with Captain Wes Wildman. Don’t miss out March is filling up fast.
