Man what a day, I had the pleasure of fishing with Brian and his sons Patrick and Tim. It was a little brisk to start the morning on Anna Maria Island for me but the guys from Boston said it was quite balmy.
We started our day by scraping a few dock to catch some Sheephead and Black drum. We did pretty well on the sheep head by landing a dozen or so nice size fish. Brian struggled on the dock fishing but I honestly think he was just letting his boys take all the glory.
We finished our trip off by heading out to the beach of Long Boat Key and running the Stone Crab traps looking for Triple Tail. The bouys were pretty bare and I was honestly thinking we were going to strike out, this is when we came came across a 24 inch absolute dinosaur of a Triple Tail. Since Brian struggled so much during our first stop I wanted to give him the opportunity to redeem himself. BY GOLLY did he ever, perfect cast and perfect fight until this stud of a Triple tail ended up in the landing net.
All in all a fantastic trip with these guys, cant wait to have them out again.
