Today was another stellar day of fishing the nearshore reefs off of Anna Maria Island. I had the pleasure of fishing with the Juhle family, and they had a great experience. Hogfish, Sheephead, and Porgys were flying in the boat all morning.
We were fishing about 7 miles off the coast off Anna Maria, in around 45 feet of water. These fish seem to hang around the nature Lime Stone bottom that the gulf of Mexico has to offer. Mostly around little ledges raising off the bottom around two feet or so. Although these natural reefs hold a Variety of different species, I would have to say my favorite fish to target is the Hogfish, they seem to be the hardest to catch but the most delicious fish to eat! If you are interested in catching one of these cool fish give us a call today and let’s see if we cant make it happen! Tight lines, Capt. Wes Wildman
