Today I had my long time client, Mr. Roger Clark, out for a afternoon session to do some sport fishing around Tampa Bay. We waited on the tide to flip and headed out around 130 to try our luck at the inshore slam (Snook, Refish, Seatrout).
As we were idling a mangrove shore line a huge school of mullet frolicking on the surface, so we decided to set up there and see what all the commotion was about. Roger made his first cast to a nice pothole along the edge of the Mangeoves, not even a minute past and he was hooked up on a beautiful Snook!
Roger also experienced and epic Sea Trout bite today. We landed 5 gator Trout over 20 inches long with the largest being 25 inches. I would say the Spring fishing around Anna Maria Island has definitely kicked off!
We ended our day with another epic snook bite and Roger was able to land another big Snook! Although we missed out on our Redfish I would say the afternoon went pretty well. Give us a shout if you are on Anna Maria Island and looking to catch some fish. Tight lines, Capt. Wes Wildman
