We are so ready for the winds to stop here on Anna Maria Island. Another day of 20+ mph winds made it tough to do exactly what we wanted, but we got done with Snook and a couple juvenile Tarpon!
The Hilb family hired me to catch them some dinner and I felt bad we could not get out on the reefs due to the wind. I decided to make up for it by taking them up the Manatee River to chase some juvenile Tarpon that put up an absolute spectacular fight on light tackle. We end up going 1/3 on these awesome fish before we moved on to catching Snook.
Due to boat traffic we had to move around quit a bit until we found a nice school of Snook that were willing to participate. We ended u catching 10 or so before we called it a morning. Even know it was extremely tough conditions we all had a great time and put together a productive day of catching fish
The Tarpon fishing is just getting going around Anna Maria Island, and June should be a great month for it as long as the weather allows. I still have some key days left if a Tarpon is on your bucket list, call us today to get you on the books for June. Tight lines, Capt. Wes Wildman
