Well the March winds have arrived and they are not letting up. The last few day we have been experiencing 15 to 25 knot winds here on Anna Maria Islans and it is making every thing a little tough. We also received a nice dip in temperatures early in the week which led to the water temperatures dropping down into the low 60s from the mid 70s. When this happens it definitely changes the game, the Snook bite slows way down until usually the afternoon and it usually pushes the Spanish Mackerel and King fish way back off the beach.

Today I had Mr. Roger out again and although the bite was a little slow we managed to have a decent trip. At our first spot roger landed a few smaller Snook but boy were they spunky. Once the sun stood high above our heads the bite seemed to pick up, Roger was able to land a nice flounder for dinner. His next cast was perfect and he felt a thump almost immediately, and after a good 5 minute fight we landed a beautiful 33 inch Snook! Anna Maria Island Charter fishing will stay great as soon as we get a few weeks of sustainable weather.

My favorite part about this time of year is when the Cobia start flooding the bays around Anna Maria Island, we will not only start seeing them on the shallow reef but cruising the grass flats and sand bars. Sight fishing them along the shallow sandbars is absolutely one of my favorite things to do. Honestly if Cobia are on you bucket list give us a call because now is the time!

We are only about a month away before the elusive Tarpon show up on our beaches, from then on forward it will be epic. These dates are filling up fast so you will want to book as soon as possible. Come fish with Wildman Adventures it will sure be a memory you will never forget. Tight lines, Capt. Wes Wildman
